President
Julie C. Akers, President of Federal Schedules, provides leadership for all of the company's business operations. Ms. Akers' primary responsibilities include executing Federal Schedules' business strategy and ensuring operational excellence. Ms. Akers works diligently to develop strategic partnerships and alliances, while overseeing all company operations including financial, human resources, and marketing and communications.
Ms. Akers also capitalizes on her twenty plus years of experience in the federal procurement arena to serve as the company's key Federal Contract expert and primary contact with the General Services Administration (GSA). Ms. Akers' frequent interaction with GSA contract personnel has helped to strengthen Federal Schedules' relationship with the Director of the Schedules Branch, and is a contributing factor to the company's reputation as the nation's leading GSA consulting firm.
Ms. Akers has been with Federal Schedules for nearly twenty years, ten of which she served as Vice President prior to being appointed President in March of 2009. During her first ten years at Federal Schedules, Ms. Akers served in various positions including Executive Account Manager. In that role, Ms. Akers consulted clients on such matters as Government Contracts, procurement, administration, leasing, federal finance programs, and government policy and regulation. Before joining Federal Schedules, Ms. Akers held various positions with other organizations, where she specialized in federal financing for technologies. Ms. Akers was a contributing party in the development of federal financing alternatives such as Lease with Option to Purchase and Lease to Ownership plans.
Ms. Akers is a member of many associations, including Women in Technology (WIT), The Executive Committee - International Organization of CEO's (TEC), Herndon Dulles Chamber of Commerce, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).
