A Tradition of Giving

Led by President and Founder, Roxanne H. Dobrynski, Federal Schedules was built upon the belief that with success comes a duty to give back to the community. Since our founding in 1986, the people of Federal Schedules have been committed to making a difference in the communities where we live and work. Through corporate donations and programs that enable our employees to volunteer, Federal Schedules supports nonprofit organizations, programs, and activities which aim to improve not only the community, but also the quality of life for individuals living within the community.

“We have built a company with people who care enough to get involved and who are, themselves, good citizens. When you build a company around good people, it is much easier to do good things,' explains Ms. Dobrynski.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

Community involvement at Federal Schedules goes beyond just financial commitment. Year after year, Federal Schedules’ employees volunteer considerable time, talents, and resources to charitable organizations. As a company we commit corporate support by means of a formal volunteer policy. Each employee at Federal Schedules receives four hours a month of paid time-off to volunteer at the organization of their choice. This program has successfully enabled employees to dedicate their time to causes and charities that are important to them, greatly improving their level of community involvement.

Federal Schedules also encourages our employees to donate blood by giving them the option of taking a paid half-day to participate in American Red Cross Blood Drives.

Federal Schedules’ employees volunteer in numerous walks and fund-raisers. Over the years we have participated in the AIDS Walk, the American Heart Walk, the Walk for Life, and others in the DC metropolitan area and around the country.  Federal Schedules annually assemble a team of participants to walk in the Race for the Cure, a 5k run that raises funds and awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection.  We also shut our doors once a year to volunteer together at the Washington, D.C. Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

CHARITABLE GIVING

At Federal Schedules, we support our employees' involvement in charitable organizations serving the needs of their communities, as well as causes we feel directly impact those communities. Offering direct donations, as well as team sponsorship donations, Federal Schedules has raised money and supplies for a variety of organizations.

In 2006, Federal Schedules sponsored The Child & Family Network Centers spring fundraiser and helped them raise over $190,000.  In 2005, in the spirit of the holidays, FSI employees elected to replace the annual gift exchange with a charitable donation. That year FSI matched all employee contributions dollar for dollar, resulting in a $760 donation to Oprah’s Angel Network.  This tradition was picked up again in 2006 and continues into 2008.

Federal Schedules is grateful to have the opportunity, particularly during the holiday season, to help those who are less fortunate. In 2008, for the fifth year in a row, FSI made a generous food donation to the DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) including numerous turkeys, boxes of fruit, and spices. The tradition began in 2004 when FSI’s President, Ms. Dobrynski, saw on the news that the DCCK was experiencing a food shortage, and without donations they would not be able to provide Thanksgiving dinner to many of the families that depended on them. Ms. Dobrynski immediately went out to purchase and deliver the requested items to the DCCK and FSI has continued the tradition every year since then.

In 2008 Federal Schedules began a new tradition of contributing to the Loudoun County Holiday Coalition. Every year the Loudoun County Holiday Coalition depends on volunteers and donations to set up a space where eligible families can “shop” for food, clothing, toys, and gift cards. This year FSI was happy to be able to donate ten $20 grocery gift cards to the cause.

FAMILY FRIENDLY

Federal Schedules also takes great pride in supporting our employees and their families. We believe in investing today for a better tomorrow. For these reasons, Federal Schedules proudly sponsors Take-Our-Kids-to-Work Day, in which employees’ children are invited to join our work force for a day. The children learn about the company, experience the responsibilities of working, and discover what their parents “do” at the office.
