This past November, GSA released seven new Special Item Numbers (SINs) under the GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Professional Services Large Category. One of the new additions included SIN 562910RMI, Environmental Remediation Services – Multiple Industries.
How does SIN 562910RMI differ from the Environmental Remediation Services SIN 562910REM that was already established? As its title suggests, SIN 562910RMI is intended to cover multiple industries. More specifically, the new SIN is for services that cover three or more industries/NAICS codes, where the preponderance of work is at least 50% under NAICS Code 562910, Remediation Services. As we mentioned in a previous post, GSA edited the description of SIN 562910REM to clarify that remediation services covering three or more NAICS codes should be provided under the new SIN 562910RMI.
During a webinar last year on Refresh 5 changes, GSA strongly encouraged companies that hold SIN 562910REM to also add SIN 562910RMI. GSA explained that holding both SINs would provide companies with full coverage under remediation services.
As of this posting, more than 260 companies offer services under SIN 562910REM. However, no company has been approved yet to offer services under the new SIN 562910RMI. Once a company is approved under the new SIN, the SIN description will be posted on eLibrary along with the awarded companies.
If your company provides remediation services and is interested in pursuing SIN 562910RMI, you can find the full description within the solicitation’s Professional Services category attachment on beta.Sam.gov here. We have also included an excerpt of the SIN description below for your convenience.
