MAS Consolidation - A Look at the New GSA MAS Schedule

How will the new, single MAS Schedule be structured following the MAS Consolidation on October 1, 2019? We knew GSA planned to break the single MAS Schedule down into large categories, subcategories, and Special Item Numbers (SINs). In late June, GSA issued a request for information (RFI) that provided a full look at that breakdown, including how existing GSA Schedules and SINs would map to the new GSA Schedule. Based upon the RFI, we learned the single MAS Schedule may consist of 12 large categories, just over 80 subcategories, and approximately 300 SINs.

Last week, GSA shared a summary of the feedback they received from the two RFI’s released in relation to the MAS Consolidation. For the most part, feedback was agreeable to the proposed new structure. According to the post on Interact, GSA received 480 responses from existing and prospective contract holders concluding the following results:

• 84% of current contractors agree that the mapping from current Schedules and SINs to the new large categories, subcategories and SINs is clear
• 78% agree with the mapping of their current SINs
• 91% of prospective offerors agree that the large categories are clear
• 83% of prospective contractors agree that the subcategories and SINs are clear

12 Proposed Large Categories for the New MAS Schedule

The proposed 12 large GSA Schedule categories and their corresponding subcategories are listed below. These categories reflect the latest information released on August 28, 2019 within GSA’s “Advanced Notice Copy of Final Solicitation 8.21.19” document. Items that are struck through represent deletions and italics represent additions from the RFI to the Advanced Final Solicitation.
