GSA announced plans this month to consolidate the four Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services (HACS) Special Item Number (SINs) into a single SIN. This decision comes a little over two years since the HACS SINs were launched under the GSA IT Schedule 70 Contract.
SIN 132-45 will be the HACS SIN housing the following subcategories:
- High Value Asset (HVA) Assessments
- Risk and vulnerability Assessment (RVA)
- Cyber Hunt
- Incident Response
- Penetration Testing
The new subcategories under SIN 132-45 cover the four current GSA IT Schedule 70 HACS SINs: 132-45A, 132-45B, 132-45C, and 132-45D. The addition of the HVA Assessments subcategory will increase the bandwidth of the SIN.
Contractors that hold one or more of the existing HACS SINs will be migrated to the new SIN and corresponding subcategories through a modification initiated by their GSA contracting officer. Contractors who currently hold all four HACS SINs may add the HVA subcategory by submitting a letter of attestation when the single SIN is released. These contractors will not be required to complete additional oral evaluations. Other contractors can still pursue the HVA subcategory by submitting a modification and passing the oral technical evaluation.
Contractors wishing to add the HACS SIN in the future will still be required to complete oral evaluations. However, questions will be tailored for the subcategories applicable to the contractor.
GSA plans to update the Schedule 70 solicitation this winter to create the single HACS SIN. The migration of current HACS SIN holders is also anticipated to take place this winter. However, as with anything, the plans could be delayed.
Since the release, the HACS SINs have generated over $10 million in sales.
